Alerton Visual Logic Software
Alerton’s VLCA-1688 is an advanced application controller (AAC; BTL listing is pending) with a high resolution 12-bit A/D; D/A converter and new, 32-bit processor and real-time clock that supports its own schedules, trendlogs and alarms. The VLCA-1688 includes monitored on-board Hand-Off-Auto (HOA) switches, Ethernet or MS/TP connectivity, and additional math functions beyond the standard VLC.
Regardless of device. The backbone of Alerton’s BACtalk. Download Latest Version of Visual Logic (Version 2. Download Visual Logic. Below are two options for downloading Visual Logic version 2. PIN code.)When you run Visual Logic, you will be asked to browse to your VLSig file. Visual Logic Controllers Alerton offers an entire family of intelligent, native BACnet logic controllers. Each controller is programmable to support a range of applications, from complex air handling units to terminal unit devices such as VAV boxes, heat pumps and air conditioning units.
It also leverages new DDC Function blocks such as an astronomical clock and wet bulb calculator. With 16 universal inputs, the VLCA-1688 economically fills the gap between the VLC-1188 and a VLX with EXP modules in an Alerton system. Alerton’s VisualLogic Display (VLD) is a communicating sensor-controller combination with built-in temperature and humidity sensors that targets common applications such as roof top units, fan-coil units and heat pumps. It provides a cost-effective solution to meet in-room hotel requirements—an easy-to-use interface, easy-to-see digital display, and Celsius/Fahrenheit change over—where you already have Alerton systems in public or common areas.
The VLD-362W features an integrated wireless receiver that communicates to different combinations of sensors for occupancy and detects whether doors and/or windows are open or closed, then reports back to the front end BAS. The Alerton® AZW-5000 provides for the wireless extension of a BACnet network using mesh networking topology to ensure self-healing, reliable communications. The AZW-5000 offers the ability to locate Alerton VisualLogic controllers (VLCs) up to 200 feet away from the nearest wired or wireless connection point. Three or more AZW-5000s make up a wireless mesh network. Each AZW-5000 on that network supports an MS/TP network with one or more unitary controllers (VLC, VLD, VAV, or MS/TP Microset). VAV Controller.
I was wondering if anyone could provide some insight on the best ways to prevent vendor lock when installing a new BMS system. In case that isn't a term used everywhere it means that it is easy to limit who can work on a BMS due to hardware/software constraints which seriously limit your ability to change contractors after the system has been installed. I believe the Niagra platform allows this as long as the vendor does not lock down the system (using NiCS). Any insight or resources would be very helpful! Independent BMS Consultant here. (I don't rep or sell any brands) in my experience, if a company or branch of a company is expending effort to lock access to a clients BMS.
They should be dropped immediately. It shows they are insecure in the quality of their work and fear the client might bring in someone else.

A company that is really good at what they do, doesn't fear competition. And for those that say they are trying to 'protect' the system from an untrained client: first train the client, second if the client is making changes without calling you, it's because they don't trust you or think your worth the money - you have the power to change that. Edit: agree with definitely include in the contract that you have administrative password to system including passwords to the panels and copies if the programming. For extra points, ask the vendor provide flow charts along with the the sequence of Operations a bit of pain for them to generate, but usually a lot easier to diagnose issues than reading their code for GPL • • • •. I totally get that first part. Request passwords for the panels as well as the main system is a good idea.
